Pianobar Rocks!

I've spent very little time with Pianobar thus far, but I've got to say that I'm incredibly pleased with it. There is something to the simple command line based interface.

I remember something my UI professor said during one of our sessions. The GUI is a very powerful concept because it can be so intuitive for anyone that walks up, but it is difficult for it to compete functionally with a command line interface. With the command line you can have a giant list of commands, and each of those commands can have a series of flags appended which modify the behavior. The more of these conditions that you implement in a GUI the more likely it will become cluttered and difficult to use.
That's not the case here. I'm not really sure why all of these options aren't available in the pandora web interface. Typing the help command doesn't return that many options. Can you really not see a list of the upcoming songs through the more popular interface?

Things to take care of regarding my Mac

1. Install Xcode on the iMac. It's already set up on the MacBook but I'd never encountered the need on the iMac until now.
2. Macports. Nice package management system.
3. Pianobar. Command line tool for Pandora. It removes Flash from the equation. Also removes guy from the equation. I honestly thought that it would save resources but not be an optimal way to interact with the service, but I was pleasantly surprised. It actually simplifies the whole process. Commands are always a question mark away if there is any uncertainty.
